2:1 Children's Support Worker

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated 2:1 Children's Support Worker. This is a full-time, temporary position that requires immediate availability, with the possibility for extension beyond the initial 4 weeks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing personalised, one-on-one care to a child, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and emotional support.
  • Assisting with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and educational activities.
  • Monitoring and managing challenging behaviours, utilising approved intervention techniques and strategies to de-escalate situations when necessary.
  • Promoting the child’s emotional and social development, encouraging positive behaviour and constructive engagement.
  • Working collaboratively with a second support worker to ensure the child's needs are met effectively and in line with care plans.
  • Documenting daily progress and incidents, maintaining accurate records of the child's activities, behaviours, and overall wellbeing.
  • Liaising with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure the child's needs are being addressed holistically.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to work as part of a 2:1 support team, demonstrating teamwork and communication.
  • Flexibility to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and 24-hour shifts as required.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient personality, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
