The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating ADHD and ASD in adults, utilising a combination of medication management, psychotherapy, and behavioural interventions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of adults presenting with symptoms of ADHD and/or ASD.
- Developing personalised treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of each patient, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and behavioural interventions.
- Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications for ADHD and ASD, monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and adherence.
- Providing ongoing psychiatric care and follow-up appointments to monitor treatment progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Collaborating with other members of the treatment team, including therapists, psychologists, and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of clinical encounters, treatment plans, and medication management in the electronic health record system.
- Staying informed about the latest research and developments in the field of adult ADHD and ASD, integrating new evidence-based practices into clinical care.
- Participating in regular case conferences, peer consultations, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Medical Degree.
- Certification or equivalent experience in psychiatry, with a focus on Adult ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing psychiatric care to adults with ADHD and/or ASD.
- Proficiency in conducting consultations and utilising remote communication technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients remotely.
- Strong commitment to providing patient-centred care and promoting mental health awareness.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
