Working as a Adult Safeguarding Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The role involves conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing safeguarding plans, and working closely with other professionals and agencies. The successful candidate will ensure that all actions taken are in the best interests of the individuals, promoting their safety and well-being while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive safeguarding assessments and investigations.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing safeguarding plans in collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Responding promptly to safeguarding alerts and concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Managing a caseload of complex safeguarding cases.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all casework.
- Preparing and presenting reports for safeguarding meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings.
- Working in partnership with clients, their families, and other professionals to identify and address safeguarding issues.
- Advocating for clients’ rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard in the safeguarding process.
- Ensuring all safeguarding work complies with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Staying informed about changes in legislation, policy, and best practices related to adult safeguarding.
- Participating in the development and implementation of local safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in adult safeguarding and managing complex cases.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
