As an Arrears Officer, you will be responsible for managing and reducing arrears on various financial accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can effectively communicate with clients to find mutually beneficial solutions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and managing accounts with outstanding payments to reduce arrears.
- Implementing effective strategies to recover overdue payments while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Contacting clients with overdue payments to discuss their financial situation and establish repayment plans.
- Providing clear and accurate information on payment options, terms, and potential consequences of continued arrears.
- Negotiating payment arrangements with clients, taking into consideration their financial capabilities.
- Working collaboratively with clients to find practical solutions to clear arrears and prevent further financial difficulties.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and agreements.
- Generating regular reports on arrears status, recovery efforts, and trends for management review.
- Ensuring all arrears management activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Staying informed about industry best practices and changes in legislation related to debt management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in debt management, preferably in a financial services setting.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in using financial management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- A commitment to maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
