Care and Support Worker

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate individual to join a dedicated team as Care and Support Worker in North Yorkshire. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including their homes or care facilities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting people and enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Helping clients with daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, household tasks, and transportation.
  • Offering emotional and social support to clients, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitoring and recording clients’ health and well-being, including vital signs, and report any changes or concerns to the relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Following individual care plans and updating them as needed in collaboration with healthcare teams, families, and clients.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintaining clear and professional communication with clients, families, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care and address any issues or needs.
  • Working effectively as part of a team, participating in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care or support role.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care are advantageous (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centred care, understanding the needs and preferences of each individual.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
