We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Senior Practitioner to join a committed team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality support and guidance to children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. This position requires a compassionate and proactive individual with a strong background in child care and social work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing a caseload of children and young people, ensuring each case is handled with the utmost care and professionalism.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and develop tailored care plans.
- Monitoring and reviewing care plans regularly, making adjustments as necessary to meet the changing needs of the children.
- Providing direct support and intervention to children and their families, addressing issues such as safeguarding, emotional well-being, and behavioural challenges.
- Working closely with children to build trust and rapport, creating a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and case conferences to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions with children and families.
- Preparing detailed reports and documentation for internal use and external agencies as required.
Requirements:
- A degree in Social Work, Child Care, or a related field.
- Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC).
- Extensive experience in a similar role, working with children and young people in a social care setting.
- Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
