We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join a Family Assessment Unit in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will work closely with families undergoing assessments to ensure children’s safety, welfare, and development are prioritised. You will provide expert guidance and interventions to support positive family outcomes, contributing to comprehensive assessments that inform court decisions and child protection plans.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting in-depth family assessments, including parenting capacity evaluations, risk assessments, and identifying support needs.
- Working collaboratively with families, offering professional advice and support to address concerns and improve outcomes for children.
- Preparing high-quality, evidence-based reports for family court proceedings and child protection conferences.
- Developing and implementing intervention plans tailored to the needs of children and families.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams, including health professionals, educators, and local authority representatives.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, statutory guidelines, and legal frameworks.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records of all interactions and case management activities.
- Attending and contributing to team meetings, supervision sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree.
- Proven experience in child protection, family assessment, or similar settings.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex family dynamics and identify risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for report writing and court presentations.
- Empathy and resilience to work with vulnerable children and families in challenging circumstances.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload effectively.
