Homeless Recovery Worker

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Homeless Recovery Worker to join a dedicated team in Oldham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate the challenges they face, and facilitating their journey toward stable housing and recovery.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing one-on-one support to individuals experiencing homelessness, including assessing their needs, creating personalised action plans, and offering practical and emotional support.
  • Developing and managing case files, ensuring that each client's progress is documented and reviewed regularly.
  • Collaborating with clients to set and achieve goals related to housing, employment, and overall well-being.
  • Connecting clients with necessary resources and services, including housing options, financial assistance, healthcare, and social services.
  • Advocating on behalf of clients to ensure they receive appropriate services and support.
  • Addressing any barriers or challenges that clients may encounter in accessing services.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local community organisations, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance support networks for clients.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of client interactions, case progress, and other relevant documentation in accordance with organisational policies and data protection regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a similar supportive role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Understanding of the issues related to homelessness, including social, economic, and psychological factors.
  • A commitment to supporting individuals in their recovery journey, with a non-judgmental and client-centered approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
