We are looking for a dedicated Accommodation Support Worker to provide an on-site presence at supported accommodation properties. This role may involve waking cover overnight and/or weekends as specified by management. The position primarily involves lone working, ensuring the safety and security of the building and its occupants when support staff are not on-site. A key aspect of the role is maintaining positive neighbour and community relations to promote a cohesive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an on-site presence at supported accommodation during designated hours, including overnight and weekends.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, responding to incidents and addressing concerns.
- Work independently to maintain order, security, and well-being in the accommodation setting.
- Promote positive neighbour and community relationships, handling any issues in a professional manner.
- Monitor the condition and security of the property, reporting any concerns or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, escalating concerns where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, interactions, and observations for reporting purposes.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in housing support, security, or social care is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a lone-working environment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to handle a range of situations.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations, safeguarding, and housing management.
- A calm, professional, and empathetic approach when dealing with residents and incidents.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in housing support, social care, or a similar role (qualifications desirable but not essential).
- Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.K.
