Housing Management Coordinator - Band 2

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Housing Management Coordinator to support residents in temporary accommodation and assessment services. This role involves assisting individuals as they transition into their own housing, providing guidance on housing applications, conducting weekly health and safety checks, and fostering a supportive and positive environment. The position also requires managing antisocial behavior incidents, attending community-based events such as Breakfast Clubs, and acting as a listening ear for vulnerable residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support residents in transitioning from temporary accommodation into independent living.
  • Conduct weekly health and safety checks, including fire safety assessments.
  • Assist residents with housing applications (e.g., Devon Home Choice or equivalent).
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment, acting as a key point of contact for residents.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and community services.
  • Manage and address antisocial behavior incidents, identifying patterns and taking appropriate action.
  • Participate in community-based initiatives, including Breakfast Clubs and other engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in housing management, social care, or resident support.
  • Strong understanding of temporary accommodation processes and tenancy support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support vulnerable residents.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts, including incidents of antisocial behavior.
  • Knowledge of housing application processes and local housing policies.
  • A positive, empathetic, and solutions-focused approach.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in housing management, social care, or a similar role (qualifications desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.K.
