We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Learning Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated team in Gloucester. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the care and encouragement needed to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Working with clients to set and achieve personal goals, promoting independence and self-confidence.
- Monitoring clients’ health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Offering emotional support and build positive relationships with clients to foster a supportive and encouraging environment.
- Maintaining accurate records of clients' progress, support plans, and any incidents or observations.
- Organising and facilitating activities that promote social interaction, skill development, and recreational enjoyment.
- Working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and other support services to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or in a similar support role is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate and patient approach with a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and potentially sleep-in shifts, as required.
