Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide high-quality care for a client in Heysham, Lancashire. The role operates on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule, allowing you to focus on providing care while living in the client's home for two weeks, followed by a two-week break. This position requires a strong commitment to the well-being of the client, offering support with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing live-in personal care and assistance to the client on a daily basis.
  • Assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Supporting with mobility and transfers.
  • Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring the client's health and well-being.
  • Helping with meal preparation and ensuring that the client’s dietary requirements are met.
  • Offering companionship, engaging in conversation and social activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining the client's living environment.
  • Maintaining accurate care records and report any changes in the client’s condition.
  • Communicating regularly with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of care are met.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a live-in carer or in a similar healthcare role preferred.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a strong desire to help others.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
