As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing care and assistance to individuals with various needs, including physical disabilities, mental health issues, learning difficulties, or elderly care. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility as per the individual's care plan.
- Empowering individuals to live as independently as possible, providing them with the tools and confidence to manage their own lives.
- Ensuring proper administration of medication in line with care plans and medication policies.
- Offering companionship and emotional support, promoting mental well-being and social interaction.
- Following safeguarding procedures, reporting any concerns related to abuse, neglect, or any other risks.
- Assisting individuals with attending medical appointments, social activities, or community engagements.
- Working closely with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to ensure holistic care is provided.
Requirements:
- Must have MAPA training.
- Previous experience in a care or support role.
- A caring and empathetic nature with a passion for helping others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, or mental health conditions.
- Enthusiastic about helping individuals achieve their full potential.
