Parent and Family Worker

Job purpose:

To carry out specialist assessments and to deliver structured interventions to children, young people and families.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering services within the Service’s scheme of delegation for safeguarding children and local safeguarding children board policies.
• Ensuring that personal practice is in line with service guidance.
• Operating within the framework of any professional registration.
• Actively contributing to the professional development of yourself and others.
• Maintaining a current knowledge and awareness of legislation, policy, procedure and practice in the post holder’s field of work.
• Producing short, formal reports to explain the outcomes assessments and interventions when required.

Requirements:

• A minimum of two years experience of working with children, young people and their families (either paid or voluntary).
• Experience of delivering groupwork in a variety of settings.
• Experience of undertaking specialist parenting assessments.
• Experience of managing challenging situations.
• An understanding of child development, effective parenting and attachment theory.
• Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
