Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilising your expertise gained in Education, Social Care, Youth Justice, or Youth Work to engage effectively with young people of secondary school age.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with adolescents presenting diverse behaviours and needs to support their educational success.
- Delivering tailored one-to-one or group sessions aimed at addressing specific behavioural challenges.
- Employing a range of approaches, including trauma-informed practice, SMART planning, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting to provide comprehensive support to young people.
- Collaborating with case managers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to youth development.
- Staying informed about various issues faced by young people today, demonstrating a deep understanding of their challenges.
- Applying your knowledge to adapt strategies and interventions that cater to the unique needs of each individual.
- Contributing to the delivery of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of young people within the Youth Justice Service.
- Supporting case managers with contacts, accompany young people to appointments or visits, and ensure seamless service provision.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working directly with secondary school-aged youth in Education, Social Care, Youth Justice, or Youth Work.
- Proficiency in developing positive relationships with adolescents presenting diverse behaviours and needs.
- Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic approaches, including trauma-informed practice, SMART planning, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
- Knowledgeable about the challenges faced by young people today.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary setting.
