Job description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a dedicated team in Nottingham. In this role, you will support individuals affected by substance misuse, helping them achieve their recovery goals and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will provide tailored interventions, guidance, and advocacy to empower service users on their recovery journey.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a caseload of service users, conducting assessments to understand their needs, risks, and aspirations.
  • Developing and reviewing individualised recovery plans in collaboration with service users.
  • Providing one-to-one and group-based interventions, including harm reduction advice, relapse prevention, and psycho-social support.
  • Delivering motivational interviewing and other evidence-based approaches to encourage positive change.
  • Supporting service users in accessing health, education, employment, and housing services to promote holistic recovery.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implement safety plans for individuals as needed.
  • Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Advocating for service users’ needs and rights, ensuring their voices are heard in planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in health, social care, or substance misuse.
  • Experience working with individuals affected by substance misuse, mental health challenges, or complex needs.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery approaches, and harm reduction strategies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
