As a Residential Team Leader, you will lead a team in delivering person-centred support to residents, ensuring their well-being, independence, and dignity are upheld. Reporting to the Residential Manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating activities, and fostering a supportive and positive environment that aligns with the clients values and best practices in residential care.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting residential care staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture.
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is provided, tailored to each resident’s unique needs and preferences.
- Identifying training needs, conducting performance reviews, and supporting the continuous professional development of team members.
- Overseeing staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts while maintaining compliance with working time regulations.
- Monitoring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards, promptly addressing any risks or issues.
- Building strong relationships with residents, assisting with daily activities, personal care, and emotional support as needed.
- Acting as a point of contact for residents, families, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear, compassionate communication.
- Maintaining accurate records, including care plans, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Proactively identifying areas for service improvement and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within residential care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills; ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, safeguarding practices, and person-centred care approaches.
