Senior Social Worker / Approved Mental Health Professional

Job description

As Senior Social Worker, you will provide professional supervision for two social workers, contributing to complex social assessments both on-site and within the community, and serving as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) for the team. You will be supported by an established framework of values and behaviours, which guide how you will interact and build relationships with communities and partner agencies. Knowledge of the Care Act and advanced safeguarding skills will be essential to succeed in this role.

As a qualified AMHP, you will also participate in a centralised AMHP service, working on-site, with supervision from an experienced AMHP manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting complex initial assessments in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Supervising and mentoring social workers, supporting professional growth and providing expert advice on safeguarding and lead on complex cases within the community.
  • Acting as the Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) for the team, ensuring best practices and adherence to the Care Act.
  • Undertaking short-term case management for up to 12 weeks as needed to support residents in primary care.
  • Participating in the centralised AMHP service on a rotational basis, providing professional support to team members.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation and policy within social care and mental health services.

Requirements:

  • DipSW, CQSW, or Degree in Social Work.
  • Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Strong understanding of the Care Act and advanced safeguarding experience.
  • Experience in providing professional supervision and mentorship.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
