Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join a Children's Court team in Hull. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting children and families through the legal processes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children. This position requires excellent knowledge of child protection procedures, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to manage complex caseloads efficiently.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking assessments to determine the needs and risks to children and families.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Managing a varied caseload, ensuring all work is completed within statutory timescales.
  • Preparing high-quality reports for court proceedings.
  • Providing clear, evidence-based recommendations to the court.
  • Attending and giving evidence in court as required, demonstrating professionalism and expertise.
  • Responding promptly to safeguarding concerns and follow local and national safeguarding procedures.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of care plans to ensure the safety and welfare of children.
  • Participating in regular supervision, training, and team meetings to ensure continuous professional growth.

Requirements:

  • A recognised social work qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and court work, including writing court reports and giving evidence.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload and work under pressure.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
