Substance Misuse and Mental Health Recovery Worker

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Substance Misuse and Mental Health Recovery Worker to join a dedicated team. This role involves working closely with individuals affected by substance misuse and mental health challenges, helping them on their journey towards recovery and independence. You will provide tailored support, deliver interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify service users' needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Developing and implementing person-centred recovery plans.
  • Providing one-to-one and group-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Supporting harm reduction strategies, including safe use education and relapse prevention techniques.
  • Facilitating access to healthcare, housing, employment, and community resources.
  • Collaborating with mental health services, social workers, medical professionals, and other agencies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in substance misuse, mental health, or related recovery work.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
