Supervising Social Worker

Job description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with a specialist team of Social Workers and Practitioners to deliver a high-quality service to Suffolk Foster carers.
  • Providing statutory supervision and support to foster carers.
  • Facilitating support groups and learning opportunities for foster carers.
  • Receiving regular reflective supervision and peer group supervision.
  • Contributing creative and innovative ideas to improve practice in a well established and supportive team.
  • Working closely with the Therapeutic team to promote trauma informed care and attachment training, alongside our Therapeutic social workers and our Clinicians to support children and carers in their placements.
  • Working in partnership with the Placements team to match and place children needing foster placements and ensuring maximum use of in-house foster care placements.
  • Working alongside childcare professionals to support children in their foster placements with regular communication and attendance at meetings.
  • Undertaking annual reviews and all statutory checks on fostering households within expected timescales – (required by Fostering Standards Regulations and guidance)
  • Providing good quality, thorough and analytical recording and reports.
  • Supporting carers to move children on to adoptive families.

Requirements:

  • Social Work degree.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Excellent understanding on relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
