We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PMVA or MAPA Trained Support Worker to join a dedicated team in Hampshire. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex needs, mental health conditions, or challenging behaviours. This role is pivotal in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for our service users.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing person-centred care tailored to individual needs.
- Assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and community engagement.
- Encouraging and promoting independence wherever possible.
- Utilising PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) or MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) techniques to manage challenging behaviour's safely and effectively.
- De-escalating situations with empathy and professionalism, ensuring the safety and dignity of all involved.
- Maintaining accurate records, including care plans, incident reports, and daily logs.
- Liaising with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent support.
Requirements:
- Valid PMVA or MAPA training certificate.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) are desirable.
- Proven experience working in a care or support worker role, ideally with individuals with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
- Experience in de-escalation techniques and behaviour management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
