Support Workers with MAPA or PMVA

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Workers with MAPA or PMVA across Kent. The ideal candidate will have a certification in MAPA or PMVA and possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals with diverse needs. You will play a vital role in promoting the well-being and independence of our clients, ensuring their safety and dignity while fostering a supportive and positive environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct support to individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence and empowerment.
  • Implementing individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals, family members, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilising MAPA or PMVA techniques to manage and de-escalate potentially aggressive situations safely and effectively.
  • Monitoring and documenting clients’ progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur during shifts.
  • Supporting clients in developing life skills, social skills, and coping strategies to enhance their quality of life.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address clients’ physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in support work and crisis management.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship, fostering positive relationships with clients and their families

Requirements:

  • Certification in MAPA, PMVA, or a similar crisis management program.
  • Previous experience in a support worker or care assistant role, preferably with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care and the principles of safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
