Supported Living Worker - Band 1

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to work alongside clients, families, children, and young people in a person-centred way. The role focuses on empowering individuals to move towards independent living, providing practical and emotional support tailored to their needs and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with clients, families, children, and young people to support them in achieving their goals.
  • Deliver flexible and responsive support in line with individual support and safety plans to promote independence.
  • Assist with practical tasks that align with clients' needs and aspirations, fostering self-reliance and confidence.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop skills, access resources, and overcome challenges that impact their well-being.
  • Monitor progress, adapt support strategies, and ensure services are client-led and outcome-focused.
  • Work in partnership with external agencies, professionals, and community services to enhance client support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with children, young people, and families in a support capacity.
  • A strong understanding of person-centred approaches and supporting individuals towards independence.
  • Ability to build rapport, show empathy, and work collaboratively with diverse individuals.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant social care legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
  • Full UK driving license (if applicable).
