As a Young Persons Recovery Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to young people facing recovery challenges. Your focus will be on creating a positive, safe environment where individuals can develop their skills, build resilience, and work towards their personal goals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-on-one and group support to young people in recovery, tailoring interventions to individual needs and circumstances.
- Developing and implementing recovery plans in collaboration with young people, their families, and other relevant professionals.
- Facilitating and leading support groups and activities aimed at promoting personal development and well-being.
- Monitoring and assessing progress, offering feedback and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure effective support.
- Providing practical assistance with daily living skills, education, and employment opportunities.
- Fostering a positive and supportive environment that encourages open communication and trust.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of interactions, progress, and any incidents.
- Working closely with other service providers and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for young people.
- Participating in regular training and professional development to stay current with best practices in recovery and support.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in a recovery or support role, preferably in a similar setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people in recovery and effective intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young individuals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
