Youth Worker (Grade 7)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Worker (Grade 7) to join a dedicated team in Durham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting young people, fostering their personal, social, and educational development. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proactive approach, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and delivering engaging programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of young people.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with youth, providing mentorship and support.
• Encouraging active participation and involvement in community initiatives and events.
• Supporting young people in setting and achieving personal goals, fostering self-esteem and resilience.
• Providing guidance on educational and career opportunities, helping youth to navigate their future pathways.
• Planning and facilitating group sessions on various topics, including life skills, health and well-being, and social issues.
• Encouraging peer support and collaborative learning among youth participants.
• Conducting outreach activities to engage with hard-to-reach young people.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with young people in a youth work setting.
• Experience in planning and delivering youth programs and activities.
• Experience in working with diverse groups, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of issues affecting young people and strategies for addressing them.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
