Archer Resourcing have a great position for a Supervising Contact Support Worker to join the dedicated team in Slough.
As a Supervising Contact Support Worker, you will ensure that direct supervised contact activity for children and young people in care is of a high standard. You will be undertaking activities and interventions as agreed by the case holding Social Worker, as well as contributing to assessing, managing, and dealing with challenging situations. As part of this role, you will need to have experience working with children from diverse backgrounds, as well as experience working with other professional colleagues such as Social Workers, Independent Reviewing Officers, and Foster Carers.
Responsibilities include:
- Build strong, effective relationships young people and their family/carer which encourages them to engage and interact according to the child’s needs.
- Safely transporting children and young people within the borough.
- Ability to record objectively the interaction between contact participants.
- Producing contact reports in the format required by the Local Authority.
- Reporting back to line manager, colleagues or professionals regarding the contact sessions on a daily basis as required.
- Attending Child Protection Conferences, Statutory Child Care reviews, or planning meetings as and when required.
- Act appropriately on Referral and Risk Assessment documents from Referrers.
- Observing and complying with the Local Authority’s equal opportunities policy and to respect individuals regardless of their culture, disability, or gender.
- Attending all mandatory training in line with the requirements of the role
- Attending and participating in case and personal supervisions on a regular basis
Requirements:
- Ability to work alone, maintain high standards of professionalism
- Knowledge and commitment to equal opportunities, as well as knowledge of relevant policies in respect of Children Looked After
- Ability to supervise contact between a child and his/her family
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults both written and verbally
- Ability to work with a changing and complex environment
