As a EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will be working with the EYFS class teacher and support staff to create a nurturing environment to provide exciting learning experiences for the children in a mixed Nursery and Reception class.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the EYFS class teacher and support staff to assist in planning and delivering exciting and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Providing targeted support to individual students to help them achieve their learning objectives, ensuring inclusivity and differentiation.
- Contributing to maintaining a positive and organised classroom atmosphere conducive to effective learning, promoting positive behaviour and social interactions.
- Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials, resources, and displays that enhance the learning environment and engage children's curiosity.
- Fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Contributing to the ongoing assessment and monitoring of students' progress, providing valuable feedback to the class teacher to inform planning and intervention strategies.
- Ensuring the well-being and safety of all children in accordance with school policies, following appropriate protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
- Level 3 or above NVQ qualification in childcare.
- Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute positively to the school community.
- Commitment to professional development and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
Notes:
- This is a fixed term maternity cover position.
- Role starts from the 15th April until the end of the Christmas holidays.
- 27.5 hours a week
- Monday to Friday within the hours of 8:30 - 3:30
