Working as a Family Link Worker, you will be supporting families in accessing essential services, resources, and building positive relationships within their community. This position is pivotal in promoting the overall well-being and resilience of families through collaborative partnerships and tailored support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to understand the unique needs and challenges faced by families.
- Engaging in empathetic and culturally sensitive consultations to establish rapport and gather essential information.
- Identifying and connecting families with local community resources, services, and activities that address their specific needs.
- Fostering strong relationships with community organisations and service providers to ensure families have access to a wide range of support.
- Working collaboratively with families to develop and implement personalised support plans, considering their strengths and aspirations.
- Providing ongoing guidance and encouragement to empower families in achieving their goals.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with local schools, healthcare providers, community centres, and other relevant entities to strengthen the support network for families.
- Organising and facilitating family-focused events and workshops to promote community connections.
- Advocating on behalf of families to ensure they receive the necessary support from various service providers.
- Acting as a liaison between families and relevant agencies to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Qualification in social work, family studies, psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with families in a supportive capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse family dynamics.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services.
