Specialist Neurodevelopmental Assessment Practitioner

Job description

We are seeking skilled Specialist Neurodevelopmental Assessment Practitioners to join our team in Exeter. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments to support accurate diagnoses for conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and related neurodevelopmental challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, client-centred assessments and reports, supporting individuals and families in understanding and managing neurodevelopmental conditions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting detailed neurodevelopmental assessments using standardised tools and clinical interviews to evaluate autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Using evidence-based practices to ensure assessments are thorough, accurate, and aligned with current clinical guidelines.
  • Compiling comprehensive assessment reports with clear recommendations and diagnostic conclusions, tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Communicating assessment outcomes sensitively, providing explanations, guidance, and reassurance to clients and families.
  • Offering post-diagnostic support and resources, helping clients and caregivers understand and access relevant services.
  • Working collaboratively with families and caregivers to develop individualised support strategies.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with psychologists, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and other practitioners.
  • Participating in case reviews and team meetings, contributing to shared care planning and holistic support.

Requirements:

  • A relevant professional qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, nursing, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in neurodevelopmental assessment, including ASD and ADHD assessments.
  • Proficiency in using recognised diagnostic tools, such as ADOS-2, ADI-R, or similar.
  • Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions and their impact on individuals across the lifespan.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
