We are seeking a dedicated and experienced KS3 & KS4 English Teacher to join a committed team. This part-time position requires the successful candidate to work 16 hours per week, with a 39-week contract, of which 34 weeks involve direct teaching.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering engaging and effective English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students in line with the school's curriculum and national standards.
- Developing lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning, critical thinking, and student participation.
- Assessing and evaluating student progress through assignments, exams, and other assessment methods.
- Providing constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborating with other members of the English department to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment practices.
- Attending department meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data.
- Communicating with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress as needed.
- Supporting the school's policies and ethos, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Experience teaching English at the KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and exam requirements for English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in their studies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
