We are seeking a passionate and skilled History Teacher to join a dedicated team. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons and contribute to the continuous improvement of our history curriculum. This position is fixed-term but has the potential to become permanent based on performance and school needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and delivering dynamic and interactive History lessons for KS3 and KS4 students, in accordance with the school's curriculum guidelines and national standards.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for History.
- Designing and implementing various assessment methods, including quizzes, projects, presentations, and exams, to gauge student progress and understanding.
- Providing constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the History Department to share resources and best practices.
- Participating in department meetings, training sessions, and other school activities as required.
- Keeping accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other academic-related data.
- Communicating with parents/guardians about student performance, when necessary, and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
- Following school policies and contributing to the school's culture and community activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for History.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
