As an Intensive Needs Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing overnight support to individuals with complex needs. This position demands a compassionate and patient individual who can ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of those in our care during the night hours.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing dedicated support and assistance to individuals with intensive needs during the night shift.
- Assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care, medication administration, and mobility support.
- Ensuring the safety and security of individuals throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents.
- Conducting regular checks and monitoring to address any changes in health or behaviour.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of nightly activities, observations, and any incidents.
- Collaborating with daytime staff through effective communication, providing updates on overnight events and individual needs.
- Providing emotional support and reassurance to individuals who may experience anxiety or distress during the night.
- Fostering a calm and supportive environment to promote a sense of security.
- Working collaboratively with other support workers, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar support worker role, especially in a night shift capacity.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field.
- Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with intensive support requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound judgments in emergency situations.
