Occupational Therapist

Job description

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their maximum potential and improve their ability to perform daily activities. You will work with individuals of all ages, from children to adults, who may have physical, emotional, or developmental challenges.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Developing individualised treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Designing and implementing tailored therapeutic interventions to help patients develop or regain daily living skills, improve their quality of life, and achieve their personal goals.
  • Working closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Providing education and guidance to patients and their families on techniques, tools, and strategies to manage their conditions and enhance their independence.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Monitoring and reviewing patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Engaging with community resources and support networks to enhance patient care and facilitate access to additional services.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist in a clinical setting, with a strong understanding of various therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care and making a positive impact on patients' lives.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
