Occupational Therapist

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Occupational Therapists in Margate. In this role, you will work with a diverse caseload of individuals, helping them to achieve independence and improve their quality of life. You will have the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, providing tailored interventions for a range of physical, mental health, and social challenges. This is a great opportunity for a compassionate OT looking to make a real difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing the physical, psychological, and environmental needs of clients, developing individual treatment plans to support rehabilitation and independence.
  • Providing occupational therapy interventions to clients with various conditions, including physical disabilities, mental health issues, and developmental disorders.
  • Working closely with clients to set achievable goals and support their daily activities, such as self-care, work, and leisure.
  • Collaborating with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Conducting home and workplace assessments, recommending equipment or adaptations to help clients live independently.
  • Monitoring and evaluating client progress, adjusting care plans as needed to optimise outcomes.
  • Keeping accurate, up-to-date client records and ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan client care.
  • Providing education and training to clients and caregivers on how to best manage conditions and improve quality of life.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in a clinical or community-based occupational therapy role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Empathy, patience, and a person-centred approach to care.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and healthcare frameworks.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
