As a Responsible Clinician, you will lead a multidisciplinary team that includes professionals from nursing, clinical psychology, and occupational therapy. You will play a pivotal role in reviewing treatment plans, coordinating discharge processes, and liaising with Commissioners regarding admissions, progress updates, and discharge planning. Your leadership and clinical expertise will ensure the effective delivery of care, with an emphasis on patient outcomes, team collaboration, and adherence to best practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists, to deliver high-quality care.
- Conducting reviews of patient treatment plans, ensuring that they align with clinical best practices and address individual patient needs.
- Coordinating patient discharge, working closely with team members, Commissioners, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Regularly liaising with Commissioners regarding patient admissions, progress updates, and discharge planning.
- Ensuring that care and treatment plans are designed and executed in line with both clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Maintaining registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and providing evidence of this registration upon request by the Hospital Director or Chief Medical Officer.
- Participating actively in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation, and management plans, contributing to team discussions and decision-making.
- Employing highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence with patients, promoting positive therapeutic outcomes.
- Applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop and implement operational solutions based on best practices and evidence-based research.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Proven clinical experience in a similar role, with a deep understanding of mental health and medical management.
- Demonstrable ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on shared decision-making and care coordination.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing rapport and trust with patients, their families, and team members.
- Ability to think critically and independently, making informed decisions while considering the overall impact on patient care and MDT functioning.
- Experience in coordinating discharge planning and liaising with external stakeholders, including Commissioners.
