We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Saturday Occupational Therapist to join a Children's Department on a locum basis. The successful candidate will work every Saturday from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to children. This position is ideal for an experienced therapist looking for flexible work hours on weekends.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children with a variety of needs, including developmental delays, physical disabilities, sensory processing issues, and learning difficulties.
- Developing and implementing individualised therapy plans to support children's functional development and independence.
- Working closely with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Conducting regular progress reviews and update therapy plans as necessary.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and assessments.
- Ensuring therapy interventions align with best practices and relevant healthcare standards.
- Participating in team meetings and collaborating with colleagues within the department.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- A Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Paediatric experience (either through clinical placements or professional practice).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and their families.
- Knowledge of child development and paediatric therapy approaches.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Liability and malpractice insurance (covered if a member of RCSLT or RCOT).
- First Aid training certification (preferred but not essential).
