We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher for a 1-year maternity cover position, starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will join a supportive team and contribute to maintaining high academic standards during the maternity leave period.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons in Science (including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
- Ensuring that lessons align with the national curriculum and school standards, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Using a variety of teaching techniques to engage students with different learning styles and abilities.
- Developing and administering assessments to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other academic-related data.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the Science department to ensure consistency in teaching methods and assessment practices.
- Participating in department meetings, training sessions, and other school activities as required.
- Communicating with parents/guardians regarding student performance, attending parent-teacher meetings when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Science and exam board requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
