We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join our team for the upcoming Summer Term. This position involves teaching a class of 30 children, with support from Teaching Assistants, including two children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The ideal candidate will possess strong classroom management skills and the ability to provide firm, fair, and consistent guidance to address challenging behaviour effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with medium-term planning provided.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to foster their academic and personal development.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school-related events. (Ideally)
- Undertake responsibilities associated with planning, marking, and assessment, including providing PPA cover if required. (Ideally)
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Proficient in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work effectively within a team.
- Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.

- This position is for the Summer Term only.
- Part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, with potential support provided for planning and marking duties.
