We are looking for a dedicated Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a committed team in Newport. The successful candidate will have clinical experience working with older adults in complex dementias and neurological conditions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing assessments, diagnostic and appropriate advice for all LSHG Service users those are referred.
- Helping to plan and monitor individual and group treatment as appropriate.
- To be part of LSHG multi disciplinary team, liaising, co-ordinating and planning work with other professionals in specific units.
- Encouraging good liaison with other agencies promoting positive good practice.
- Contributing advice to families as necessary.
- Attending MDT’s, staff meetings, CPD’s and in-service training as required.
- Following current administrative and statistical procedures as required by LSHG.
- Keeping clinical notes as per professional guidance and standards and to present information to MDT’s.
- Keeping up to date with new techniques and research for the maintenance and promotion of good practice and to record same on the Professional Log of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- To be conversant with communicating quality guidelines and ensure agreed care standards are adhered to.
- Ensuring statistical information and client records are updated.
- Participating in quality assurance and clinical audits as necessary.
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and language Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding when working with individuals with communication difficulties.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
