We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in ADHD treatment and management. This freelance position allows for a flexible working schedule while contributing to a crucial department focused on ADHD within CAMHS.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments for children and adolescents with ADHD.
- Developing accurate and timely diagnoses based on clinical interviews, assessments, and observations.
- Creating individualised treatment plans that address the specific needs of each patient.
- Prescribing and managing medication as necessary, ensuring the best outcomes for patients.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
- Providing expert guidance on behavioural strategies and psychological therapies.
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Offering expert consultations to families and caregivers, supporting them in understanding ADHD and treatment options.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with data protection regulations.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- Significant experience in diagnosing and treating ADHD in children and adolescents.
- Strong understanding of current ADHD guidelines and evidence-based treatments.
- Previous experience working in a CAMHS setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
