Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to undertake ASD assessments for children and young people aged 3 to 18 years. This is a flexible role that allows you to work on a schedule that suits your availability, with options for remote or in-person assessments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting detailed ASD assessments for children and adolescents (ages 3–18).
  • Providing diagnostic evaluations, including clinical interviews, developmental history reviews, and behavioural observations.
  • Collaborating with other professionals as needed to ensure a holistic understanding of the child’s needs.
  • Preparing comprehensive assessment reports with clear diagnostic conclusions and recommendations.
  • Engaging with families to communicate findings in a sensitive, empathetic manner.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a relevant degree.
  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and managing Autism Spectrum Disorder in young people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage clinical sessions autonomously and deliver high-quality assessments.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.

Commitment and Flexibility:

  • Minimum monthly commitment: 8 assessments (16 hours).
  • Appointment slots are 2 hours each.
  • Assessments can be conducted remotely or face-to-face, based on your preference and family needs.
  • Opportunity for evening appointments after 2 months of regular work.
