Job description

We are seeking compassionate and qualified Counsellors to join a dedicated team, working in a hybrid capacity in Birmingham. This role will involve providing therapeutic counselling to clients through a combination of in-person and virtual sessions, ensuring flexibility for both the client and the counsellor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to create a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting individual counselling sessions, both virtually and in-person, to support clients with a variety of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, and stress.
  • Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of client sessions, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with data protection policies.
  • Providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Working collaboratively with other mental health professionals or external agencies to ensure comprehensive client support.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines set by governing bodies

Requirements:

  • A degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Accreditation or membership with a recognised body such as BACP, UKCP, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counselling role.
  • Experience in delivering both face-to-face and virtual therapy sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, managing caseloads and scheduling efficiently.
  • Familiarity with virtual counselling platforms and digital tools.
  • Empathy, patience, and a client-centred approach.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
