As a High-Intensity Counsellor, you will handle a caseload of clients through video counselling, utilising a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach. Additionally, you will support individuals requiring more advanced psychological interventions when necessary. To excel in this role, you should either hold or be working towards accreditation and possess a higher-level qualification in CBT or EMDR, or be actively pursuing relevant training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining an active caseload of structured video counselling sessions, utilising a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach.
- Managing a caseload of Digital CBT clients, including those in the Digital Trauma Programme.
- Handling high-intensity counselling cases via video upon request, addressing clients needing advanced psychological interventions such as CBT or EMDR.
- Working effectively with a diverse range of individuals and presenting issues, including those who are distressed, at risk, or where safeguarding concerns for children and adults are identified.
- Committing to ongoing CPD and training, progressing towards higher-level qualifications.
- Providing immediate support via the 24-hour helpline when required, ensuring calls are answered within 8 seconds and triaged appropriately based on the support needed, such as legal advice, counselling, or medical guidance.
- Conducting clinical assessments to identify the most appropriate support for clients.
- Managing a personal inbox effectively, maintaining a zero-inbox policy and responding to all client emails and queries within the agreed service level agreement.
Requirements:
- Must be BACP accredited or working towards accreditation.
- Must be trained in CBT or EMDR or working towards higher level qualifications.
- Relevant telephone experience and/ or EAP experience.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
