Job description

Job purpose:

  • To provide a specialist comprehensive administrative and front-line support service within Housing Options service, embracing changes and ensuring year on year service improvements to maintain high standards.
  • To support homeless officers with client casework ensuring homelessness prevention, relief, and timely move on from temporary accommodation, including but not limited to issuing applicants with standard letters and notifications under Homelessness Reduction Act and, full duty acceptances are completed on Northgate IT system.
  • To ensure all enquiries and applications including Priority Band 1 (PB1), medical and Home finders are progressed efficiently and within set targets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To provide a specialist comprehensive administrative and front-line support service within Housing Options service, embracing changes and ensuring year on year service improvements to maintain high standards.
  • To support homeless officers with client casework ensuring homelessness prevention, relief, and timely move on from temporary accommodation, including but not limited to issuing applicants with standard letters and notifications under Homelessness Reduction Act and, full duty acceptances are completed on Northgate IT system.
  • To assist with the implementation of ICT upgrades including participating in testing; and revising work flow processes.
  • Create new forms and assist in developing and implementing system changes after beta testing on CDP test environment and migrating completed tests over to Live system.
  • Make appointments, liaise with and/or maintain effective contact with internal and external service providers where it will help resolve customer enquiries advocating for the customer.
  • Sourcing data and files, checking and storing them in accordance with standard procedures. Where necessary ensuring applications are correctly coded and any  issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate and assist with the planning, organisation, and delivery of Service events to staff, partners, and the public.

Requirements:

  • Experience of dealing with customers in person or on the phone and offering good customer care.
  • Experience of carrying out a range of administrative duties.
  • Experience of using databases, document management and workflow systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles of good customer care.
  • To meet exceptional business needs a willingness to work outside of contractual hours in the evenings and weekends with notice, unless there is good reason where this is not possible.
