Prison Recovery Coordinator

As a Prison Recovery Worker, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the rehabilitation and recovery of individuals within the prison system. You will work closely with incarcerated individuals to develop and implement personalised recovery plans, addressing their unique needs and challenges.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Collaborating with other professionals to develop individualised recovery plans.
• Providing one-on-one counselling sessions to address substance abuse, mental health issues, and other challenges.
• Supporting individuals in developing coping mechanisms and life skills.
• Organising and facilitating group therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of recovery.
• Creating a supportive and therapeutic group environment.
• Collaborating with external agencies and community resources to ensure a smooth transition for individuals re-entering the community.
• Assisting in developing post-release support plans.
• Collaborating with prison staff to ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a prison.
• Prison Vetting is essential.
• Strong understanding of addiction and mental health issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and teams.
